SHOCHU with HOT water

People drink SHOCHU often with hot water and it may be the most popular way of drinking it in KYUSHU. Pour hot water into a glass and add SHOCHU slowly. In order to maximize its flavor, we recommend hot water at a temperature of 70 degrees Celsius, not boiling water. After pouring the SHOCHU, do not stir. Please enjoy the process of SHOCHU blended with hot water. The rich flavor of the ingredients will be spread out in the risingsteam.
It is said that the ratio between SHOCHU and hot water should be “6:4”,“5:5”, “4:6”. If you like a rich and mellow flavor, we recommend more SHOCHU than hot water “6:4”. Drinking with a meal, “5:5”. If you want the SHOCHU aroma or don’t drink a lot alcoholic beverages, we recommend starting with “4:6” and adjust it as you like.
